Having joined Grace the Space in 2022 as a project facilitator, Alice was delighted to join founders Natasha Nixon and Ruth Pitter as a co-director in 2023.

GTS was co-founded by Natasha and Ruth in 2021 as part of the Women Leaders Southwest Programme supported by The Arts Council England Transforming Leadership Grant and Activate Performing Arts.

GTS exists to remove barriers to creative arts and landscapes for marginalised women who are not usually seen in these settings without judgement or threat.

In 2022 and 2023 they delivered a series of creative participatory events, partnering with organisations such as the National Trust, Activate Performing Arts, ArtfulScribe and National Landscapes. They worked with a wide range of brilliant women across Dorset with organisations such as International Care Network and BCHA’s women’s refuge.

In 2023 they were awarded a Seedbed Residency with 101 Outdoor Arts. Co-creating with women, Grace the Space will use the residency to explore accessible and unexpected live performance and installation work in non-performative spaces. They aim to increase confidence and expression within marginalised communities whilst being equally progressive and bold with their creative ambition, exploring scale and empowering women in landscapes.
