Summer Spacious Rest: Yin Yoga and Gong Bath

Saturday 14th August

1:30 – 4:30pm

Relax and receive in this restorative afternoon session of yin yoga and a gong bath. Supported by the warmth of summer, come rest in spacious presence with embodiment practitioners Louise Furmenger and Alice Flynn.

The two complementary methods of yin yoga and the gong bath will work at a deep level to nourish through both the physical and vibrational-energetic layers.

Yin Yoga supports both release and rest. It is a more floor-based practice, with supported postures held for longer in order to enable the joints to be nourished. Yin Yoga also works gently with the connective tissue, unravelling physical and emotional tension: ‘the issues in the tissues’.

Gong baths work at the level of subtle vibration to clear stagnant energies and activate the parasympathetic nervous system. The sounds from the gong travel from the outer ear throughout the body via the vagus nerve—having a calming effect on brain waves, respiratory rate and heart rate.

This afternoon is open to anyone and everyone. No yoga experience necessary.

Please arrive 15 minutes before the session starts to settle and set your space. There is limited free car parking available on site, as well as on adjacent roads.

The room is well-ventilated and the afternoon will follow COVID-19 guidelines.

What to bring and wear:

Please bring a yoga mat, water bottle and two blankets and a pillow/cushions which can be used as props in our yin yoga practice and for comfort during the gong bath. Please wear comfortable, loose clothing you can move freely in. Layers are best for warmth, especially for the gong bath as we will be lying down for this.
